#175: You’re either on a Mission or you’re wasting your one and only life

#175: You’re either on a Mission or you’re wasting your one and only life (As my friend Jim Rohn said, “You’ll suffer the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.” Don’t die full of regret.

The only way to get anywhere meaningful is to know exactly where it is you are going.  You must clearly define your Mission and establish the exact steps to take to get you there.  Otherwise you’ll be lying on your deathbed filled with regret.

As a Good Life philosophy enthusiast you must have a Mission. Your Mission has a huge lovable Why and is answering a fundamental question involved in the answer to “What is the best way to live?”

My Mission is clear and I’ve described it to you over and over and over again.

My Mission is to be so free that my very existence is considered an act of rebellion.

Part of that mission includes building an impenetrable financial moat around my castle of love… “Over time I’ve been building my castle of love… just for two… though you never knew you were my reason…

My reason is my bride, me lady, Lady Spendsalot, good ole Sparkle Barbie. I love my wife of well over two decades. I like spending time with her. Her fancy face married a freckle face and I’m backing up what I told her nearly a quarter century ago when I was a broke joke… I told her, “One day we’ll never have to worry about money.”

Now little did I know that the joke was kinda on me. Sparkle doesn’t worry about money… I do enough worrying about money for the both of us. I’ve told you the story before – Lady and I were out walking the country roads of the gold coast of Morgan Township Indiana one sunny summer morning and she confessed to me that she never worries about money.

The reason she never worries about money is because of what I told her when we first got married. It was a Zig Ziglar quote which says, “Help enough people get what they want – and you’ll always get what you want.”

So Lady says to me, “What do we do everyday hun bun?” And I softly answered, “Help people get what they want.”

“That’s why I never worry about money… honey.” She says to me as her beauty sparkles brightly in the morning sunshine.

Well, that’s just great. Because I’m still on a Mission. A mission to drive the final nail in the coffin of money worries – a Mission that will set me for life.

You know I’m already personally debt free, I’m already financially independent. So what else is there? Well, it’s kind of a big deal and most Regs wouldn’t understand it – but a true Good Life enthusiast would definitely understand it and appreciate it. So I only share this Mission with Inner Circle members.

But enough about me, let’s get back to you and your Mission.

In Steven Covey’s wildly successful book The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People… habit two is: Begin with the end in mind.

That’s what a Mission is… an end. A goal. A wonderfully amazing conclusion to a life altering objective.

In the scary good and even scarier truth based Robert Greene book The 48 Laws of Power… Law 29 is: Plan all the way to the end.

Robert says, “By planning to the end you will not be overwhelmed by circumstances and you will know when to stop. Gently guide fortune and help determine the future by thinking far ahead.”

I love that line “you will know when to stop.” For people like you and me we need to know where we’re going and it is wildly exciting for us to know when to stop.

Having an end in mind is no guarantee that you’ll reach it – but not having an end in mind is a sure guarantee that you won’t.

This is why and how your Mission is critical in your life as you pursue personal greatness as you pursue purpose and meaning and as you perform consistent efforts with a lovable end in mind – have a Mission.

When your efforts are not directed at a cause or a purpose, how will you know what to do day in and day out?

How will you know what to say no to. How will you know what to say yes to. How will you know when you can stop, take a breath, and give yourself a congratulatory pat on the back? How will you know… unless you specifically define what you want and why you want it.

The answer is swift and simple – you cannot.

And when you don’t and when you cannot – you are left lying on your deathbed and in walks the person you could’ve been, the person you should’ve been.

You avoided the pain of discipline and now will suffer the pain of regret.

So get your Good Life act together right her and right now and define your Mission.

And if you’re serious about freedom, if you’re serious about debt freedom, if you’re serious about financial freedom, if you’re serious about business freedom… then click your way on over to realestategoodlife.com join the Inner Circle and I will personally coach you to freedom.

Have a great day my friend!
